Tasting Notes:

The Oak Aged Wild Blueberry Wine (QC) from Muskoka Lakes Winery is a unique wine that drinks almost like a dry, red grape wine. This wine was fermented on the skins, pressed and then aged in 250 litre French oak barrels for 7 months. Deep purple in colour, it has a spicy, blueberry nose with hints of Christmas cake and eucalyptus. This medium-bodied wine has a nice balance of fruit and oak tannins, good acidy and a long finish. Pair it with roast beef, pepper steak and leg of lamb. Drink now or cellar for 3-5 years. Serve at room temperature.
