Winery News

I now have an assistant winemaker! Not only is he helping me with shows (check out our up-coming shows on the left) but we're also working on some exciting new ideas. How does Blueberry Vermouth sound? What about Sparkling Cranberry Wine (Cranpagne?). Stay tuned for further updates.

Meanwhile, watch for upcoming releases of our 2011 Framberge, our 2011 Oak Aged Wild Blueberry Wine and our Spritzer!

Farm News

There's an old farming adage that says, "There are only two good crops - 1952 and next year." Well, 2011 turned out to be a good year, and now we're working on next year. The buds for the 2012 crop set in August, so we have to make sure they survive the winter.

We've been flooding the marsh to freeze the vines in ice so they stay safe and dormant all winter. While the vines are sleeping, we have to plow the snow off the beds. Keeping the beds clear ensures the frost is driven deep in the ground to keep the vines dormant.

Meanwhile, we're also keeping the trails groomed and the pond cleared for ice skating. There's lots to do here - even in winter!
