When cranberry vines are dormant, the leaves turn burgundy. See our beds of red!
June/July - Blossom Time!
The blossoms look like the head of a crane (hence, ‘crane berries’). See these amazing flowers!
Aug/Sept - Green Berries!
Tiny, pinhead fruit forms behind the blossom and grows to full-sized cranberries!

Bring your group for a tutored wine tasting! Specializing in award-winning wines made from native Muskoka fruit, our tastings are a unique, educational experience.

As your guide takes you through a tutored sampling of our wines, you’ll learn about wines, winemaking techniques and about the unique aspects of fruit wines. Available year-round.

Farm Wagon Tour

Family owned and operated for over 50 years, we are the oldest cranberry farm in Ontario.

Tour Wagon
From May to October, take your group for a guided tour of the marsh in a tractor-pulled wagon. Learn how cranberries are grown and harvested.

From May to September the vines grow, blossom and bear fruit. There’s always something unique to see!

During our October harvest the beautiful Muskoka Lakes area is awash with spectacular fall colours. Our crimson harvest is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Three fun-filled days! Start your tour at Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh or in Bala. We will book your arrival time and have your Festival Passport buttons waiting at your start point. Buttons are required for the events in town and are $6 each. All button revenue goes to the Bala Cranberry Festival, a non-profit, volunteer organization.

We cannot reserve wagon tours or winery tours on Festival Weekend. Tours are on a first-come-first-served basis. The wagon tour is free with a Festival Passport button and $3/person without. Wine sampling is also available for a small charge.
